The Vision
'Be still, and know that I am God.' Psalm 46:10
When it was built at
the beginning of the 20th century, Degibna Methodist Church served a thriving,
tightly-knit community. At the beginning of the 21st century, the local
community has all but disappeared, to be replaced by a much more mobile
population. People already travel many miles to park in the National Trust car
park and enjoy the peaceful walks and splendid views, and many others would
welcome respite from the pace of modern-day life. We believe that this is the
community we are called to serve in our day and age.
We seek to be a place set apart for worship & wonder, reflection & refreshment, peace & prayer, hospitality & healing.
As a Circuit, District and ecumenical resource, we also seek to be used by individuals and groups from the wider community. All are welcome in this place.
We would
welcome your prayers and support as we continue to seek to know and follow God's will.
'Then
give us courage, Father God,
To choose again the pilgrim way,
And help us
to accept with joy
The challenge of tomorrow's day.'
