Danny’s role is in administrative and pastoral oversight of the staff, preachers and chapels in the area, envisioning our congregations to be outward looking, transformational and loving within the Church and within communities. Mission Enabler, Epworth Centre Missioner and Community Worker
Sarah attended Porthleven and Helston School and in her early life had 2 passions, horse riding and dancing representing her beloved Cornwall! From School Sarah attended Duchy College and developed her Floristry career, business and teaching qualification. The love of working with children has been a constant through Sarah’s life either teaching Sunday school, running youth groups or holiday clubs. Sarah decided after children to work in her local school and worked with all ages of children as a HLTA. Sarah later trained in early years and ran a nursery in a school in Truro. Sarah left working in education to join the team in 2021 as our Epworth Centre Missioner and Youth Worker and loves sharing the good news of Jesus in practical ways.
Theresa joined the LAMB team in 2018 as a clerical support worker. Currently she works Monday and Tuesday. As the Circuit Administrator her role is very varied involving the usual office jobs plus being an ambassador for the Circuit to the general public who visit the chapel at Central, Helston. Theresa comes from a large Cornish family who regularly love to get together and is a keen follower of whatever sport her family are involved in: football (male and female) rugby and netball to name a few.
Bethany has recently joined the team as Circuit Administrator, working Wednesday to Friday alongside Theresa. She has been on maternity leave looking after her son Alfred, but is ready for a new challenge and a slight break from mum duties 3 days a week! In her spare time she enjoys keeping fit and baking.
Sarah has lived in the Parish of St. Keverne all her life and was an active member of the localchurches both in St Keverne and Coverack. Sarah sang for many years in a worship band and was involved in a puppet ministry, travelling around the county leading All Age Worship, Praise Parties and outdoor events. Sarah joined Central a few years ago and sings with the Worship Group and acts as an extra adult with the Sunday morning youth on occasions.
Currently on compassionate leave
I was born in Porthleven and lived here until I was 8 when my dad became a Methodist minister. We moved to Peterhead, Scotland then Moston in Manchester and finally to Bebington on the Wirral. Once I qualified as an Occupational Therapist I moved back to the area and have been here ever since. Life has not always been easy on our moves and has taught me a lot about different bodies of people within the Methodist Church helping me to grow in my own faith. One thing is for sure that Jesus’ love is the same wherever you are and in whatever you do - a very comforting thought! Jane joined the team as a steward in 2021.
CAP Debt Counsellor
My name is Deb and I started working with CAP after taking a few years out from full time work to be a stay-at-home mum. Before this I worked in the education sector, teaching children who had profound additional needs, and I also spent a couple of years as an administrator in the charity sector. I enjoy reading and playing the piano, but I most of all like to spend my free time drawing and painting (when the kiddies are in bed!).
Janet has only recently joined the Circuit Leadership team as a steward as for many years she and her husband had the huge task of being our Circuit Meeting Secretary’s. Janet is a member of Trinity Methodist Church and is a talented organist and pianist. Janet is a Mother and Grandmother and loves nothing better than spending time with her family.
Vanessa is a Steward at Porthleven Methodist Church and also has recently joined the Circuit leadership team as a Circuit Steward. At Porthleven Chapel Vanessa has been involved in the children’s work for many years and has nurtured many young people’s faith and their knowledge of Jesus and his love for them. Vanessa is also a talented flower arranger. Outside of Church Vanessa is a Guide leader and works for the NHS in one of our local hospitals.
Paul is Treasurer of the Circuit, having taken over the role in January 2019. He is a member of Central Methodist Church at Helston, where he is also part of the Finance and Youth teams. Paul has grown up in the Methodist Church and undertaken many roles within it.
Away from Church activities, Paul is a qualified Accountant and a Director of Pullen Davies Solicitors, based at St Agnes. For relaxation, he enjoys being part of various local amateur dramatic societies and watching and playing sport. He is happily married to Mary Louise and has four lovely children, of whom is justifiably proud.
Third Age Worker
Tracie is our third age worker, a new post in our circuit working with residential and care homes. She worships at Porthleven Methodist Chapel, where she is a steward, pastoral visitor and circuit pastor. Tracie is originally from Somerset, but moved to Cornwall in the 1980s. She has four grown up children, one dog and chickens! In her spare time she is an active amateur archaeologist and artists, and she also loves the opera.
Circuit Benevolent Officer
Liz is our Circuit Benevolent Officer, working with Christian’s Against Poverty. Liz is new to the role after a career in the Civil Service and more recently at Falmouth University. She lives in Helston with her husband Martin, and foster-son. Their son Matt lives and works in Bristol. Liz is also step-mum to Gavin who lives in Helston with his wife Becky and her 4 children. Liz plays Eb Bass in Helston Town band and is a committee member and Trustee, with Martin and Gavin also playing Cornet.
Bobby was born in Cornwall and has lived in Porthleven his whole life. He has a lot of experience working with children and young people, some of which includes acting as a TA at Porthleven School, helping and running many youth events, and he also has 5 years of experience working at a summer camp is the U.S.A where ages range from 6-17 years. In his free time he is most passionate about sports and music, and hopes he can bring his skills with these into his role. In May 2023, Bobby got married to our Children’s and Families Coordinator Alice Combellack.
